Who we are looking for...
We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated sales advisor with excellent verbal and written communication who will strive to achieve targets, while maintaining our core values of professionalism and sound recommendation.
Our successful candidate will advise on specialist property insurance products, provide quotations and place cover with insurers, maintaining our reputation for fast, professional service whilst building relationships with existing and new commercial customers.
You will work to develop a full understanding of a range of policy wordings and will learn to assess the specific needs in every scenario so that you can provide the trusted professional advice on which our reputation stands.
The successful candidate will be comfortable on the telephone and will able to use a computer with confidence whilst engaged in conversation on a call.
What is expected working in this role:
You will develop a strong understanding of a range of products to enable suitable recommendations to customers.
You will learn to identify and respond appropriately to an individual customer's level of understanding, ensuring every policyholder has the information they need to make an informed decision.
You will use a variety of software and online applications to gather information and provide quotations, assessing risk in individual scenarios and recommending strategies for risk management.
You will negotiate directly with insurers to achieve a desired outcome.
Produce and/or request insurer documentation.
Working well in our quotations team, to achieve and exceed targets.
Full training will be provided in respect of our products, processes and compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications and experience
Insurance industry experience is an advantage, but not essential to an individual who has the right qualities.
Educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths
Keyboard skills and typing ability (we are not expecting 80 words per minute, but you'll be using email, the internet and writing your own letters, so you will need fluency and accuracy).
A confident, professional and courteous telephone manner.
Organisational skills to manage and prioritise case-load.
Effective communication skills in the spoken and written word
Note - Individuals working in insurance distribution must be 'of good repute'. Employment and personal references will be required. Declarations will be required in respect of criminal and credit records. Validation checks will be carried out periodically throughout your employment.
