Lighting Project Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a Lighting Technical Engineer to assist in designing, planning, and executing lighting projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, clients, and contractors to deliver efficient, high-quality lighting solutions that meet performance standards and client expectations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, technical challenges, and contributing to cutting-edge projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Planning

Develop detailed lighting designs, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD or similar software.

Assist in preparing and revising Bills of Quantities and Bills of Materials based on project requirements and feedback.

Technical Support

Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to LED drivers, control systems (DALI, DMX), wiring configurations, and other electrical components.

Provide pre-programming support for controllers and drivers used in projects.

Perform system testing, validation, and commissioning to ensure compliance with performance standards and specifications.

Project Coordination

Support the Product and Sales teams with Lighting Control System Design and BOQ preparation.

Handle product faults (RMA) and coordinate with the product team for timely resolution.

Conduct on-site technical meetings, supervision, and testing as required.

Coordinate assembly processes and special product testing to ensure quality and functionality.

Documentation

Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including drawings, BOQs, progress reports, and technical specifications.

Collaboration

Work closely with senior engineers, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.

Provide technical expertise and support during all project phases, from planning to installation and commissioning.

Education & Experience:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Electronics Engineering , or a related field (Polytechnic graduates are encouraged to apply). Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Lighting Project Engineer or in a similar role. Experience in the Lighting or Electrical industry is essential.

Technical Skills:

Fundamental understanding of lighting systems, including LED technology , control protocols (DALI, DMX) , and circuitry . Practical experience with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes . Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and calculations.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and teams. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
