We have a vacancy for an Project Engineer to Project manage the installation of gas Supply Scheme installations including metered sites, COMAH sites, and Fork Lift Truck refuelling from conceptualisation to hand-over. This may include electrical, civils and liaison with permitting/approving bodies.
Projects delivered safely, to budget and on time
Developed and deployed risk management strategy for complex projects, including CDM documentation where required
Applying a fair and justified procurement process to high value equipment and contractor purchases
Specification of appropriate technical solutions alongside Cost and time estimates to facilitate the sales process
Ordering, Scheduling and delivery of resources and consumables at the disposal of the project engineer
Submission and Approval of projects with necessary bodies
Conduct Audits, HSE investigations and report incidents as required
Ability to make justified decisions as to the options available when designing fuel supply schemes and forming technical proposals
To decide upon preferred approaches from a cost safety and logistical perspectives
Ability to prioritise works in order to suit customer requirements
To capture and cost project variations during the execution phase
To devise cost-competitive approaches to solve issues that arise during the project
Honest and reasoned reporting of safety incidents even where conflict applies
Selection of vessel locations in accordance with codes of practice
Monitor and resolve engineers/subcontractor's queries
Select most appropriate solution to siting issues to achieve department objectives
Monitor and resolve customer queries
Sound understanding of how the company's HSE MS applies to there role
Hazard identification and evaluation / management of risk
HSE costs vs. benefit analysis
Follow and abide by all H.S.E procedures and policies
Conduct all installation administration and advice to conform to current legislation
Expert knowledge of Codes of Practice relating to role & function and allied to all areas of LPG installations
Knowledge of the use and application of CDM legislation
Computer literacy including the use of Microsoft Office and CRM/GBS systems
Ability to use 2D CAD where required
Understanding of Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and general schematics
Good level of general education, articulate and numerate.
LPG technical understanding UKLPG Codes of practice.
Full clean driving licence
Fundamental project management qualification MINIMUM
Application of LPG codes of practice
Application and implementation of COPs regarding
Siting distances to buildings, boundaries, fixed sources of ignition, firewalls, compounds and vegetation
Pipe material and sizing for low, intermediate and high pressures
Fire fighting
Good time management and organisation
Ability and experience of risk assessment, Documentation and control
Practical risk management experience (IOSH desirable)
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
Strong customer focus
Contractor engagement and working to procurement processes
Understanding of Process industry preferred
