Job Description


The UKRI Agrifood Network+ project is led by a team of 4 Co-Directors, the award will commence on 1st July and run for three years. It is a high-profile project which will commission scoping studies and inform the main research councils (EPSRC, BBSRC, ESRC & NERC) in their research prioritisation to support the Government\'s net zero transition with respect to agriculture, land management and the food system.

The role holder will be line managed by the project manager based at UWE Frenchay Campus. The role comprises overseeing the \xc2\xa35million grant budget, preparing reports, organising, and facilitating events and travel arrangements. The role holder\'s responsibilities will include liaising with the UWE contracts office and Finance office to ensure all contract and finance requirements for the project are in place.

The project has the support of over 70 external partners signed formal letters of support committing time and resource to the project, including Defra, Climate Change Committee, WWF, National Trust and many food, farming, land and environmental organisations. There are 11 higher education institutions formally involved in the running of the Network, including from Newcastle University, Queens Belfast, Scottish Rural University, Aberdeen, Lincoln, Royal Agricultural College. There are several hundred academic researchers who engage with the work of the Network, and we expect this to continue growing.

The 4 co-Directors are Professor Angelina Sanderson-Bellamy at University of West of England, Professor Sarah Bridle at University of York, Professor Tim Benton at the University of Leeds and Professor Neil Ward at the University of East Anglia.

About you:

The role holder will need to be proactive and organised to provide high level support to facilitate the running of this wide reaching, large scale project. The project coordinator will be a key contact for the Co-Directors and UWE Project Manager. You will need to work inclusively across the network to represent the University with integrity and professionalism at all times. The work will be varied and you will need to be organised and to be able to multitask effectively.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post until 30 June 2025, working 37 hours per week on 1.0 FTE contract.
