WEA have an exciting opportunity for a Project Administrator to join our GMCA Community Grants team in Manchester, North West.

This is a fixed term role, ending on 31 March 2025.

Imagine being able to help the most disadvantaged people in our society via the successful model of Community Grants. This would allow you to help distribute \xc2\xa34.5m in funding to a broad range of voluntary sector organisations and housing associations, across Greater Manchester, to enable the delivery of much needed educational activity.

Initially, we want to engage people from the hardest to reach groups; homeless, marginalised and simply lacking confidence. The activities we fund will help people break down the barriers that are preventing them from establishing their place, seeking and gaining fulfilling employment. Reporting to the Project Managers, the Community Grants Project Administrators will be responsible for the overall administration of the project.

The Project Administrator will have a varied role and day to day activities will include:
  • Supporting the project team with administrative tasks;
- Liaising with potential grant applicants via e-mail and telephone - Responding to enquiries and providing information and advice on project procedures;
  • Processing grant applications against funding compliance rules;
  • Administering tracking systems to monitor progress against funding targets;
  • Assisting with the completion and submission of financial claims;
  • Maintaining accurate records of all grant applications, responses and outcomes.


About you:

As a Project Administrator on the GMCA Community Grants project, you should have:

  • Administrative experience;
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines;
  • Proficient organisational and I.T skills;
  • Experience of communicating at all levels, both written and verbal, enthusing and inspiring prospective learners and stakeholders;
  • The ability to work holistically and collaboratively across multiple teams;
  • A strong team work ethic. We like to collaborate and support each other;
  • A passion for adult education, and making a difference!
