Role

3-month contract (with the potential for extension), either 0.6 or 0.8 FTE depending on availability.

This is a newly created post within the Community Values Education Programme (CVEP) to support the Programme Manager in the continued growth of our activities. We are a small, friendly, and supportive team based in the Dean of Students\' Office. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to make an impact and work with students and staff across the University to raise awareness of Warwick\'s core values in a way that is practical, meaningful, and engaging.

You will enjoy working on a variety of projects, with guidance and support from the Programme Manager. You should enjoy working with students and within a team environment as co-creation is at the heart of what we do.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To support the Programme Manager with everyday logistics and planning of delivering our projects e.g., room bookings, booking catering, ordering resources, maintaining logs of equipment, admin requests, organising recruitment, and supporting new starters.
  • To oversee programme communications (e.g., newsletter) and scope out potential opportunities for internal promotion. To support the promotion and delivery of specific sub-projects e.g.,
  • - Oversee the organisation and support the delivery of the student ambassador training workshops.
  • - Promote and oversee the organisation of the Kindness on Campus awards.
  • To represent the programme during engagement activities such as pop-up stands or wider departmental events, and positively engage with staff and students.
  • To support with registration and management of students participating in the Active Bystander course.
  • To help keep materials up to date and identify materials and resources to help improve content.
  • To provide facilitation support to Tutors (following training) if needed e.g., helping to run small group discussions, managing resources after a session, and collecting questionnaires.
  • To engage and consult with student and staff stakeholders to support co-creation and continuous improvement, supported by the Programme Manager.
  • Comfortable speaking about and engaging others in topics such as sexual misconduct, homophobia and racism. To support the capture and dissemination of impact data.
  • To value diversity and act as a role model for an inclusive working culture.
  • To provide other general support for programme activities as needed.
Skills and experience
Essential:
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of a project (of any type) and be able to communicate your role in the project and the value that you added.
  • Experience working as part of a team on a shared goal where you contributed ideas and had a specific goal.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.
  • Confident in communicating with others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organisational skills, self-motivation, and ability to plan own workload.
  • The ability to demonstrate creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • High commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including confidence and experience with standard desktop applications and the ability to pick up new applications quickly.
  • Willingness to take on training and development activities.
Desirable:
  • Experience working with students in either a training or facilitator capacity, a leadership role (this may be within a club or society environment if you are a recent graduate), a consultation role, a mentoring role, or a teaching capacity.
  • Experience in providing admin support to a team.
  • Lived experience or experience working in equality and diversity.
Location
We expect that the successful applicant will work from home (UK), however, they should expect to travel to campus for key meetings, events/activities, and workshops (approximately, once a week during term time).

Additional information
Applicants should state whether they are applying for a 0.6 FTE (3 days a week) or 0.8 FTE (4 days a week). 0.6 FTE is 22.5 hours a week.0.8 FTE is 30 hours a week.

If the applicant is applying for 0.6 FTE, the working pattern is preferred to be Tues-Thurs.

If the applicant is applying for 0.8 FTE, the working pattern will either be Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri.

The applicant can state a preference between these two patterns.

Please note that the week of 25th December is unpaid as the successful candidate will not be working this week.
