University of the Arts London presents a unique and dynamic opportunity for a creative Studio Manager to become an integral part of our community at Camberwell, Chelsea, and Wimbledon Colleges. Step into a pivotal role within our Graphic Design programme and help shape the future of creative education.

As a core member of our Programme Team, you will be vital in enabling the safe and efficient practical delivery of technical and creative activities within our studios and workshops. Your specialist expertise in Design will help to facilitate our Graphic Design students\' development as technically aware practitioners, whilst respecting their primary identity as designers, creators and makers.

Working closely with the Programme Director, you will also ensure effective technical resource arrangements and progressive working relationships are in place. You will line manage and support a team of Specialist and Support Technicians, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual support.

Your expertise and insights will contribute to the continual development of technical resources and learning activities, creating a positive and inclusive experience for both students and staff within a nurturing learning environment.

About you

We are seeking a talented and creative individual, holding a BA in an Art, Design or related field, or with equivalent industry level qualifications. You will possess specialist knowledge and proven experience relevant to the Graphic Design programme, including demonstrable knowledge with tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, AfterEffects and Web Coding (P5).

Excellent working knowledge of studio culture and contemporary design practices and technologies, alongside strong organisational skills to ensure efficient and effective use of technical resources will also be key to this role.

Familiarity with the Higher Education environment, academic cycles, and contemporary pedagogic practices is also desirable. As a leader, you should be able to motivate and guide your team effectively, setting clear objectives and managing performance.
