Job description
Kings College London (KCL) has a vacancy for a Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of two major awards that will support and enhance the research and clinical activities in the new Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People (PMC) on the IoPPN Denmark Hill Campus and within the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformational collaboration between KCL and the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust (SLAM) to create a state-of-the-art hub for mental health research focused on children, adolescents, young adults and their families to support the existing NIHR BRC infrastructure.
KCL and SLAM have funded a ~\xc2\xa370m project to build and equip the PMC, and this building will become the home of the King\'s Maudsley Partnership (KMP). The Partnership\'s vision is to transform the understanding and treatment of young people\'s mental health by bringing together world-leading clinicians and researchers. King\'s Fundraising team and the Maudsley Charity continue to raise funds for reinvestment into the Partnership\'s operation and services.
To support the clinical / academic partnership, two successful bids for additional funding have been made to fund academic and clinical work in CYP mental health. These two grants will be used to provide high specification and specialist equipment, as well as to improve collaboration spaces.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of the UKRPIF and NIHR awards, working closely with colleagues in KCL and SLaM that are leading or supporting the various workstreams associated with the two awards, and the wider community of staff involved in PMC and KMP. The post holder will have a proven track record in project or programme management, ideally in a research or clinical environment. They will be a well-organised and solutions-focussed self-starter, able to engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
This post will be offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months. For internal candidates, this may be offered on a secondment basis.
