Brief Description

Scotland\'s Railway\'s Strategy & Investment team is shaping the railway of the future. We are defining what the railway can deliver for Scotland and turning that into reality through a programme of transformational investment. At the heart of everything we do is Scotland\'s commitment to Net Zero.

This means we are creating and shaping a sustainable railway for everyone that encourages cars and lorries off the road and onto trains, whilst leading a major programme of investment to make our trains even greener.

We do this by working as a team to define the benefits our investment must deliver, develop strategies, solve complex problems, make decisions, and build the case for investment. Communication and relationship building is key to our success as we work with a very wide range of internal and external stakeholders and lead presentation of our proposals to Scottish Government.

Our team, based in Glasgow, would like to welcome a new team member to lead our Railway for Everyone workstream, where we focus on the door-to-door passenger journey to increase the attractiveness of the railway, encourage modal shift from private cars, support revenue generation and contribute to Scotland\'s climate change targets.

We are striving to better integrate our railway into the communities we serve, removing barriers to access, and thus encouraging people to choose rail more often as part of their sustainable journey. We encourage flexibility and have many different working patterns in place across all roles in the team.
