Process Technician, Dewsbury

Hours of Work

: 4 on 4 off, 2 x 6am - 6pm, 2 x 6pm - 6am

Salary:

13.50 - 15.50 per hour

plus

2k shift allowance and 0.50 per hour attendance bonus.

Job Overview



The Process Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency of production systems, ensuring consistent product quality, and troubleshooting any issues within the manufacturing process. This role involves the hands-on operation and adjustment of equipment, monitoring processes, and adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Process Monitoring and Control: Monitor and adjust process variables to ensure the production process operates within established parameters.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any equipment malfunctions or process deviations to minimize downtime and ensure quality production.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various production equipment, such as mixers, reactors, boilers, and automated systems.

Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on products, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Data Collection and Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report process data, including production yields, equipment performance, and process adjustments.

Maintenance Support: Work closely with maintenance teams to schedule and perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.

Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of processes, changes, and repairs, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Safety and Environmental Compliance: Follow and enforce safety and environmental policies, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and adhering to environmental protection standards.

Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions.

Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to less experienced operators or team members regarding process procedures and safety protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a focus on process control and equipment operation.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, and automation systems. Familiarity with data analysis and process control software is a plus.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve operational issues quickly.

Attention to Detail: Excellent ability to monitor multiple process variables and make adjustments as needed.

Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and document processes accurately.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, work in noisy or challenging environments, and stand or walk for long periods.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:



Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodology.

Forklift Truck Licence preferred but not essential.
