Farne Salmon & Trout is a leading supplier of premium smoked salmon, committed to delivering the highest quality products to our customers. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Line Manager to join our backshift team.
About the Role
As a Line Manager, it is your responsibility to control and co-ordinate all activities within their respective area, achieving all standards, efficiency targets, customer specifications, quality standards as well as completing the daily and weekly task
plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all daily production targets/orders are met as required and report reasons for non-completion and actions taken
Ensure all CCP's are met
Ensure all SAP processes are met
Ensure the department is audit ready and promotes everyday standards
Ensure compliance with H&S and environmental policies and procedures
Ensure appropriate labour levels and that planning/deployments of labour is maintained and correctly managed
Ensure daily and weekly briefs are held with team
Maintain all quality standards and specifications
Ensure all engineering issues are reported correctly
In conjunction with the dayshift team, maintain a departmental fabrication issue list
Provide the Site Shift Manager/Dayshift Line Managers with daily reports detailing performance/ operational issues
Work with High Care Line Managers to ensure that the department runs smoothly with excellent communication between low and High care.
Ensure all staff have the appropriate training to carry out jobs safely and effectively. Ensure all training needs and skills gaps are identified and escalated
Review work procedures in the area and ensure the most efficient methods are being used
Responsible for controlling absence levels in line with the Company's Attendance Manager Procedure.
Ensure return to work interviews and guidance and support meetings are held and to ensure the correct management of all leave requests
Carry out investigations with the support of the HR department to ensure issues are rectified and corrective actions put in place
Ensure all staff use up their holiday entitlement within the allocated time
Actively seek improvements and make suggestions on all aspects of operations be it Health and Safety,
Food Safety, Staff Wellbeing, Staff retention, Training and Production
