Scope of Role
Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrison's and Waitrose in the UK.
The purpose of this role is to organize the work of a team of production operatives, to ensure that departmental targets are met with reference to volumes, efficiency, and customer requirements. To lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.

Key Responsibilities
To organize ingredients and packaging required to fulfil production orders and volume
To ensure correct and efficient set up of production lines, including prestart checks and paperwork, utilizing all available staff to maximize efficiency and minimize cost
To execute the production plan adhering to allergen running orders set out by the production plan
To check that products, meet company requirements and customer specification, completing all quality and production documentations as required
To observe and implement good housekeeping procedures following good manufacturing process always (GMP) challenging any behaviour that is not in adherence to policy
To train new employees and agency workers on department specifics supporting growth to ensure a multi-skilled team that can move through pay grade bandings
To organize work for individuals and team and give feedback to Manager/Supervisor about individuals and team performance
To undertake other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by Supervisor / Manager
Flexible approach to working hours covering the needs of the business
In the manager/supervisor's absence assume the role and ensure that the department runs to its full potential and all daily tasks/duties required are fulfilled
To lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.

Person Specification
Essential
Basic level of both verbal and written English
1 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience leading a team
Desirable
Level 2 Food Safety
Health and Safety/first aid related qualification
