Product Operative
10.50 - 12.50 per hour (Reviewed after 3 month probation period)| Hixon, Stafford, Staffordshire | Permanent no agency employment.
We are a manufacturing and engineering company that operates through distributors globally.
Due to expansion, we a currently recruiting for a Product Operative to be based in Hixon, Stafford.
This is a permanent position, so will be ideal for candidates who are looking to progress within a respected company.
Immediate start available.
Product Operative
Main duties will involve the manufacture of bespoke products.
The work will involve using handheld air tools to manufacture and assemble products according to specification.
Applicants should possess previous experience of working in an assembly manufacturing environment and must have an eye for quality/detail.
Key skills:
Clear and precise communication skills with fellow workers and their line manager.
Hold a full clean driving licence
Have basic mechanical and / or engineering skills
Have an understanding of Manual Handling techniques and safe working practices
Good English literacy skills for completion of in house - process documentation
Electrical knowledge and experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Duties will include:
Assembly:
Ensuring that all parts and materials for the assembly of the product are stored in a manner where they are easily retrievable and are not subject to damage or deterioration.
Visually inspect parts for functionality and damage before assembly.
Ensure the correct parts for the specific product are being used.
Carry out the assembly to the detailed work instructions.
Complete the unique work card for the built product and stamp the first box to verify inspection.
Place safely and securely on the available trolley waiting for testing.
Testing:
Check the date codes on the cards to ensure there has been sufficient curing time before testing.
Load the product onto the test rig and ensure the end caps are securely fitted.
Connect the product to the water supply.
Carry out the testing to the detailed work instructions.
Packing and Final Inspection
Check the date codes on the cards to ensure that all in process inspections have been carried out.
Apply the anti-tamper seals and all the relevant labels to the product
Pack the product in the relevant sized box and secure with security tape.
Add the unique details of the product onto the designated area on the outside of the box.
Complete the final inspection form.
Band the box and place in stock
Experience of Goods Inwards and stock control would be advantageous but is not essential.
Product Operative Position/Requirements
Able to work to consistent levels
Familiar with metal manufacturing process / fabrication
General maintenance experience advantageous
Basic use of hand tool experience is advantageous
Product Operative Position Remuneration
42.5hrs per week (7.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thurs and 7.00am to 2.00pm on a Friday)
10.50 - 12.50 per hour depending experience
