The Procurement Manager will oversee and support the procurement needs of the UK and EMEA region, working under the guidance of the Director, Operations Management. Leading a team of buyers, the Procurement Manager will drive material clearance to support the build plan and develop strategic supply chain procurement initiatives. They will create purchasing strategies to optimize cross-divisional purchases of operational goods and services. Additionally, the Procurement Manager will evaluate, manage, and implement initiatives to enhance the performance of EMEA Procurement and support the global Corporate Procurement teams.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Effectively manage, coach and mentor a team of buyers
Utilise and optimise procurement system technologies to reduce the total cost of goods and services
Lead business process re-engineering initiatives to increase productivity, quality and effectiveness of procurement
Support cross-functional teams executing strategic sourcing projects
Support escalations and expedite part requirements to ensure timely resolution and delivery
Maintain strong relationships with key vendors and strategic partners to create a highly efficient supply chain
Prepare the annual purchasing budget and manage annual forecasts in line with the financial year
Forecast market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
Work with the planning organisation and commercial team to ensure appropriate material pipeline is supported
Manage the introduction of new products and ensure timely delivery of goods to market
Direct the work of extended procurement staff to improve day-to-day interaction with vendors
Drive internal customers to identify and implement business process improvements
Manage inbound freight to ensure an optimal balance between supply and cost. Regularly review 3PL partners to guarantee the most competitive freight rates are being tendered and promised lead times are being met
Manage the S&OP process
Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal issues
Assure internal controls are adequate and followed in order to protect Light & Wonder assets
Ability to travel as and when necessary
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:Demonstrated results in driving cost efficiencies across multiple categories of spend
Possess a thorough understanding of mechanisms to identify and unlock savings opportunities
Experience as Procurement Team Leader or Manager in a global manufacturing company ideally within the gaming, electronics or technology sectors
ERP Software Proficiency - Experience using procurement and inventory management systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
Experienced with multi-step strategic sourcing processes across a range of categories
Skilled negotiator with the ability to secure favourable terms and pricing with suppliers
Experience with leveraged agreements, multi-year, complex contracts, e-Auctions and should-cost models
Demonstrates a results-oriented approach with a strong focus on business priorities, and a proven track record of successful accomplishments
Excellent supplier relationship management skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, and highly skilled at assessing and managing priorities
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to build rapport and trust with cross-functional colleagues and foster a
collaborative environment
Desirable:Preferably a Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
