Procurement Category Manager

Our client is a long-lasting Manufacturer in the Defence industry that have seen significant growth and success after being awarded an exciting new contract in recent years, which has offered strong job security and progression opportunities for everyone involved!
As a Category Manager within the Procurement department, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing strategic sourcing activities across a range of commodities, predominantly Metals including Steel, Aluminium, Armoured Steel, Castings and more.
You will be responsible for the following:
- You will develop and implement category strategies.
- You will lead key supplier relationships.
- You will be the subject matter expert for your designated commodity group.
- You will build and maintain information on supply market and key suppliers, including cost analysis.
- Proven experience in Procurement and Category Management.
- MCIPS qualified or equivalent
- Experience with SAP highly desirable.
- Experience in the Defence industry, or similarly highly regulated Manufacturing.
Salary - c\xc2\xa350k - \xc2\xa355k (dependent on experience)
Benefits -7% Pension Contributions, 4% from candidate 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
Permanent - Full Time - 0800-1630 (Mon-Thu) 0800-1300 (Fri)
