Process Engineer- Plymouth

We are looking for a Process Engineer for our Plymouth, MI facility. In this role you will be the subject matter expert of the products and manufacturing processes within the Plymouth Manufacturing Site. You will support the day-to-day powder manufacturing operation and lead continuous improvement projects.

Your Responsibilities:

• Serving as a technical resource for Production personnel
• Sustaining/improving product yield and quality
• Managing technical projects under some guidance from more senior Engineers or Engineering Manager
• Identifying and executing continuous improvement projects (yield improvements, cost savings initiatives, cycle time reductions, variability reduction, first time right initiatives etc.)
• Identifying and proposing upgrades and/or purchase of new equipment
• Maintaining liaison with vendors
• Supporting or leading various capital expenditure projects
• Leading and supporting root cause investigations
• Addressing nonconformances
• Implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Maintaining SAP master data (bills of material, recipes, etc.)
• Creating charge calculations according to product specifications
• Working closely with the Controller on product costing and other financial analyses
• Transferring new products and technologies from R&D to Production (scale up)
• Creating, updating, and providing training on work instructions, manufacturing batch records, and other documentation

Your Profile:

• Bachelor\'s degree- Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering degree preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with people in various departments across all levels of the organization, including production personnel and senior management
• Willingness to get hands-on with dirty, noisy, and hot equipment when help is needed
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical environment preferred
• Knowledge of powder manufacturing and thermal spray processes preferred
• Knowledge of lean and six sigma methodologies preferred
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/ AS9100 preferred
• Proficiency in SAP is preferred
