Business Unit: Blackstone's Private Wealth Solutions (PWS) Legal group.
This role will sit within a fast growing and dynamic business and involve product structuring and launching the firm's individual investor focused vehicles, managing the day-to-day legal matters for new and existing retail funds, and assisting the other senior lawyers within PWS Legal with strategic projects.
Blackstone's PWS group represents $260 billion of Blackstone's $1.1 trillion of AUM and is a key growth driver for the firm. The individual investor space is at the epicenter of investment management and Blackstone's PWS group is one of the most successful businesses of its kind in the industry. PWS is highly entrepreneurial and has a stated goal of hitting $1 trillion in AUM within the business unit, and the PWS Legal team is core to this mission.

This role will involve a variety of interesting and cutting-edge legal and general corporate matters, with a focus on the formation and ongoing management of Blackstone's European retail business targeted at private banks and wealth managers. Primary job responsibilities will include:Participating in the design and launch of new funds.
Overseeing the ongoing day-to-day management of new and existing funds.
Assisting senior leaders with project management and fund formation matters and participating in product development of various investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.
Participating in the creation and management of fund board materials.
Managing regulatory filings (e.g., AIFMD disclosures, annual reports and prospectus updates) and assisting with day-to-day oversight of legal matters.
Working with the in-house Legal & Compliance team and external counsel to monitor and implement legal and regulatory developments that impact Blackstone's European retail funds and their distribution.
Providing regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and enhance internal processes.
Managing relationships with outside counsel to address specific legal issues and review fund documentation.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should:Be a solicitor / lawyer qualified in England and Wales or other jurisdictions.
Have a minimum of six years of relevant post qualification experience (law firm, in-house or combination thereof).
Be a creative problem solver with a can-do attitude.
Have an interest in a dynamic and high growth environment.
Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, intelligent, and proven excellence in prior endeavors.
Be able to proactively manage new situations and to independently manage projects to conclusion.
