Job Overview - Solutions Lead for Care and Custody (Public Sector)
Development of technical solutions for FM delivery across all Care and Custody opportunities and contracts
Main Duties
The Facilities Management (FM) Solution Lead will work as part of the public sector business development bid team, and will be responsible for developing Mitie\'s FM solution for bids in secure environments including prisons, and Immigration Removal Centres. Working as part of a bid team led by a Sales Lead, the Solution Lead will use their extensive knowledge and experience of FM operations in the secure estate, and their skills in developing FM solutions, to build compliant, compelling solutions that meet our customers and service users\' needs and add value beyond their requirements. The function will require the Solutions Lead to work on large and medium-sized strategic bids with teams of Stakeholders, Operational Leads, Subject Matter Experts, Bid Directors, Bid Managers, other \xe2\x80\x9chorizontal\xe2\x80\x9d resources, and third-party organisations, such as supply chain partners, consultants, or specialist suppliers. An understanding of working within current government frameworks is an advantage as well as a track-record of working with stakeholders from throughout the justice environment.
Responsibilities
Sales support and bidding
Design and develop FM solutions for bids and projects, working with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation to build cost effective and high-quality solutions to ensure we retain existing business and win new business opportunities.
Support the effective capture of customer requirements with the Sales Lead, and assist in turning these requirements into compelling value propositions that leverage the \xe2\x80\x98Mitie Difference\', and using this to form the basis of FM proposals and bid solutions.
As FM workstream lead within bid teams, work with subject matter experts and the wider team to ensure the FM solution is integrated with the whole solution and is not developed in isolation.
Capture and communicate any associated risks and assumptions associated with the proposed service model.
Operational Excellence
Systems Engineering & Enterprise Architecture
Contribute to the overall vision for service delivery, including high-level architectural design and service model for the FM element of bid, project or programme.
Analysis of any existing FM solution, and design the transition from the existing to the new solution, including planning effective implementation.
Oversee the development of workforce service solutions, incorporating elements such as TUPE transfer and asset management solutions.
Ensure the integration of innovations, improvements, IT and transformation activities.
Proposition Development and Bidding
Lead the FM multi-disciplinary workstream & stakeholders to develop optimal service solutions.
Develop safe, regulatory-compliant solutions, taking into account developing legislation and increasing regulatory compliance requirements.
Introduce innovation that will differentiate Mitie\'s propositions in a crowded marketplace.
Ensure compliance to Mitie\'s governance processes.
Develop the FM content for and lead solution presentations and workshops, customer facing dialogue sessions, and FM bid responses, providing critical review of responses and adding subject matter expertise.
Embed continuous improvement into solutions & adopt service best practice methods from across Mitie contracts and wider industry.
People & Culture
Work effectively with the wider solutions team to develop holistic and optimal FM solutions for complex bids as a collective.
Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior internal stakeholders to ensure governance review processes take place.
Work closely with other indirect/horizontal resources providing solution leadership and clear direction to the FM workstream.
Ensure the FM workstream balances a range of technical and subject matter experts with new and innovative thinking.
Work effectively with partners and subcontractors to lead a coherent FM solution, ensuring commercial sensitivities are managed appropriately.
Financial
Assist the management of FM solution pricing for major opportunities, ensuring compliance and effective optimum utilisation of resources
Working closely with the commercial & financial teams to apply relevant financial and commercial models to achieve effective technical solutions, underpinned by internal benchmarks or through Mitie supply chain.
Ensure that the operational and technical solutions are fully reflected in the commercial proposal and costing model and that the solution is deliverable
Use financial data to review and assess opportunities and aid decision-making
Participate in competitor analysis to assess strength of Mitie solution.
