We are seeking a dynamic and visionary person to take on the role of Principal Officer - Learning Disability and Mental Health Transformation in Bridgend. This role is pivotal in developing our adult social care services, ensuring that people receive engaging, meaningful, and life enhancing experiences.
As an authority we are committed to enriching the quality of life for adults who have care and support needs through innovative and impactful daytime and community opportunities with the aim of empowering individuals, fostering community integration and promoting for people with learning disabilities and mental health services. You will ensure that service development is progressive and responsive to people in need ensuring that people have the opportunity to maximise their potential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
The development and implementation of a strategic plan to transform daytime and community opportunities, ensuring alignment with the authorities' priorities, goals and regulatory requirements.
Building strong relationships with individuals, families and community partners to ensure services are person focused and community integrated.
Identifying gaps in provision, and designing future models based on best practice and the analysis of current systems and populations needs
To create and oversee a diverse range of innovative programmes and activities reflective of individual needs and the interests of the people we support.
Working collaboratively with the Head of Service, Social Work Lead and Group Managers to develop new models that are inclusive and responsive to people with care and support needs ensuring they experience a seamless model of service delivery,
To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program using data and feedback to drive improvements and ensure quality outcomes are achieved
To foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across services.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
