Salary: UH9 \xc2\xa356,021 to \xc2\xa366,857 (pro rata) depending on skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days (pro rata) plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Main duties & responsibilities
The successful candidate will, in liaison with the Senior team provide academic leadership of Hertfordshire Law School\'s suite of Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) preparation programmes including the new LLM (Solicitors\' Practice), PG Diploma and PG Certificates.
The postholder will provide guidance, direction, and leadership to a team of people and assume responsibility for quality standards and the enhancement of learning, teaching and assessment and the overall academic experience of students for these programmes. You will also be responsible for the ongoing development and refinement of the LLM (Solicitor\'s Practice) programme. You may be asked to line manage a group of staff within the School and will be a member of the School\'s Executive Group. You will be expected to develop and teach innovative, engaging, research-informed, modules in the fields in which the role holder will be teaching.

Skills and experience needed
Experience of professional legal practice in England and Wales and teaching on the Legal Practice Course, SQE or equivalent is essential. The candidate will likely have taught one of the core modules of Solicitors training. It would be beneficial to have experience of teaching at undergraduate level and experience in wider student engagement initiatives.
You will have the ability to contribute to the design of engaging and intellectually stimulating modules. Alongside this, demonstrable ability to use technology to enhance the quality and flexibility of delivery to students. You will be able to network and form good working relationships, with excellent interpersonal skills. You will be a self-starter with excellent organisation and management skills, particularly when managing multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.
You will have an understanding of the University\'s strategic plan, regulations and processes and employability plans. You will be proficient in English, with the ability to negotiate with stakeholders. You will have a highly developed sense of professionalism and a commitment to student graduate success, including a commitment to equal opportunities and to ensuring that students from all backgrounds have the support they need to succeed and progress in their careers.

Qualifications required
You will be a qualified solicitor or Barrister of England & Wales, or CILEx lawyer, holding both a Bachelors and Masters qualification in Law (or equivalents), alongside an equivalent professional qualification. A teaching qualification and / or Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable.
