  • Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment.
  • Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and filing requirements across all jurisdictions.
  • Manage the preparation and review of international tax returns and filings, including Pillar 2.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to changes in tax laws, treaties, and compliance obligations
  • Ensure compliance with business and IM governance and change controls for all technology deployments and changes.
  • Develop and implement transfer pricing policies in alignment with international guidelines.
  • Oversee the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and manage annual filings to support intercompany transactions.
  • Conduct regular reviews of intercompany pricing arrangements and update them as necessary.
  • Develop and execute tax planning strategies to optimize global tax positions and mitigate risks.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the tax implications of cross-border transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
  • Advise on tax-efficient structures for international expansion and market entry.
  • Identify and assess tax risks associated with business operations, transactions, and expansion plans.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to manage audits, disputes, and other tax controversies in various jurisdictions.
  • Partner with legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure compliance and support global business initiatives.
  • Support cross-functional projects, including ERP implementations, by providing tax-related input and ensuring accurate tax reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; master's degree or advanced certification (e.g., CPA, LLM, or MST) is preferred
  • Desirable: Honours degree
Experience
  • Experience in international tax, with a strong focus on cross-border tax planning and compliance. Information System and Technology
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS, and other international accounting Standards
  • A proven track record of having worked in a similar role in the Tax field in Commerce.
  • Strong working experience of international tax principles, transfer pricing, tax residence etc
  • Demonstrates and displays knowledge and expertise in the Tax discipline, through tax planning and
  • advisory skills, tax compliance skills and tax governance skills, and in particular ability to:
  • Communicate key tax issues appropriately
  • Apply commercial acumen including understanding the business impact of tax advice
  • Influencing executives and the ability to lead and manage people
  • How to manage multiple stakeholders and tasks concurrently and how to work to deadlines
  • Utilising efficient work practices
  • How to work independently and manage own projects and a team
  • Good accounting practices
  • An understanding of the mining industry would be an advantage
