Principal EC&I Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Nuclear \xe2\x80\x93 Berkshire \xe2\x80\x93 Contract (Outside of IR35)

Due to rapid and continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal EC&I Engineer to join a leading contract organisation, delivering consultancy services, Engineering solutions and site operations support to some of the UK\xe2\x80\x99s leading Defence contractors.

This role will suit a Principal EC&I Engineer who enjoys a hybrid delivery role on high complexity projects. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for an aspect of a \xc2\xa3750m defence programme ,and the role will appeal to someone with a background in the Nuclear or Defence related industries.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

• Periodic Review of Safety particularly design substantiation
• Reviewing existing safety case documentation for Civil and Structural systems
• Assessing existing documentation against modern standard
• Undertaking site surveys to ascertain the current condition of Civil and Structural systems
• Authoring updated Design Acceptance Reports
• Identifying shortfalls within the safety case

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience of writing design substantiation reports or other safety case documentation
• Experience of design or design substantiation of concrete and steel structures within a nuclear hazardous environment
• Understanding of safety case
• An understanding of the relationship between safety functional requirements, structures, systems and components and Engineering Schedules
• Previous experience of working in the Nuclear industry is essential

Current DV clearance and the ability to work from site 3 days per week is essential.
