Experian Consumer Services (ECS) are the team behind your Experian Free Credit Score, Experian Boost, and the advanced Credit Expert product. ECS Technology are part of an agile business unit within Experian that has been through a complete technical and organisational transformation.

As a Principal Developer you will work as part of an existing agile team to develop quality solutions within required deadlines. You will collaborate effectively to support and enhance the full product lifecycle, reviewing proposals, evaluating alternatives, providing estimates and making recommendations, serving as an expert on applications and providing technical support and revise, update, refactor and debug greenfield and established codebases.

The Principal Developer is a critical role within ECS as the development teams will look to this role to help set the technical strategic and tactical direction as we embark on our exciting product transformation journey.

What you\'ll need to bring to the role & Experian

We expect you to have good experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems.

Key Technical Experience

• Expertise in C# .NET, ideally with .NET Core
• A good understanding of frontend development tools, specifically with JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
• Expertise in cloud-based application and microservices, particularly in an AWS environment
• Ability to see, suggest, model, and deliver viable technical solutions in a complex technical environment
• Write clean, scalable code, with a view towards design patterns and best practices
• Lead by example demonstrating the technical quality and soft skills that are expected of the team
• Capability to lead core technical teams (matrix), setting the technical direction for teams both onshore and offshore
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
