Delivery:
Manage multi-disciplinary design & technical advisory teams on major projects and / or portfolio of projects
Manage bids and client capture plans to help drive growth in the sector
The role will expect agility to deliver multiple projects, potentially at different development stages, in a consultancy portfolio at the same time
Contribute to the development of project scope and target costs, including understanding risks and opportunities
Guide the delivery of multi-disciplinary design / project management processes including clear programmes that teams can be managed and monitored against
Have strong technical skills and be able to manage project and design risk and impacts, as well as being able to identify and allocate resources appropriately to address competency and complexity
Represent MM in management, project, and technical meetings with the client / or series of clients and support our technical specialists
Form collaborative relationships with the MM design, technical specialists and project / commercial managers and balance the competing tensions of time, cost, and quality, to successfully deliver positive outcomes
Be proficient in challenging and improving processes and performance and building a culture that inspires your team/s to innovate, and to arrive at value driven and efficient designs / solutions
Develop strong project control behaviours and processes within your team/s, to achieve time, cost and quality requirements for the design and overall project

Experience of design / project managing major complex healthcare projects
An experienced manager of people and teams, developing others, and managing staff welfare
Demonstrable experience of developing and influencing collaborative team culture and behaviours, as well as working effectively within a multidiscipline and diverse team
Strong commercial performance and an understanding of procurement, the design process and healthcare brief development

We are looking for an experienced Principal Design Manager / Principal Technical Advisor to join our growing Health Sector team for UK & Europe. You will report on day-to-day basis to the national health sector design and TA lead, as well as support our regional health sector lead for Scotland & Ireland. You will support and drive growth within the region, whilst supporting our national strategy and ambition.
Our work requires agile individuals with extensive experience of managing multi-disciplinary programme, project / design / advisory teams from RIBA stage 0 to RIBA Stage 3 and beyond into detail design, shaping brief development, stakeholder management, and navigation of the business case production and approvals process.
You will be expected to oversee our regional health work from a design and technical assurance perspective working closely with the regional health sector lead and wider core health team. You will help support the management of local and national pipeline opportunities - in shaping growth capture, convince, win, and delivery through work with individual NHS Trusts and Boards. You will work collaboratively with the health sector team in support of the sector ambition and growth strategies in becoming a preeminent multi-disciplinary consultancy in the sector.
You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of the design process and of managing complex programmes of work, being able to bring together our broader MM technical team as well as a broad supply chain into a coordinated design and project delivery or technical assurance team service.
You will be capable of applying yourself to manage major commissions or multiple projects for our clients, managing pipeline opportunities working with and supporting our health coordinators, and managing projects for design and multi-disciplinary technical advisory commissions through bid and delivery.
