Associate Member RICS/Registered Valuer Membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance -

Casual Car Documentation -
The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

We are seeking an motivated, Principal Commercial Surveyor to work within our Development & Investment Service. The successful candidate will support the Head of Investment on the implementation of the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan ensuring the City's land and property portfolio aligns to the Council's growth and development agenda. You will undertake property reviews and evaluate the performance of property assets ensuring assets are used to secure financial, social and environmentally friendly benefits for the City.
This exciting opportunity will play a lead role in promotion and management of key strategic City Centre assets, in addition to championing the development and implementation of a commercial estate strategy.
You will manage the workload and personal development of professional and technical staff in the delivery of the above corporate objectives. You will lead on the development of operational management systems that contribute to the delivery and improvement of the property service. You will also identify and collate property related data behind the production of regular property performance reports and associated property KPI's.
You will play a pivotal role in developing the workload of the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan Board and its future activities, ensuring a regular pipeline of sites are considered and evaluated supporting the Councils financial and new housing ambitions towards delivering;

Contributing to the generation of demanding capital receipts and revenue targets
Increased social value benefits, providing 1565 additional, 'supported accommodation' and 'homelessness units'
Promoting the city's Economic Growth agenda through the use of assets

About the Candidate
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge/experience of the following:
Working at senior level in a large and complex organisation managing assets, workforce with a track record of delivery.
Have experience of undertaking property reviews and implementation of good practice asset management
Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including senior officers and elected members to ensure their property needs are met.
Be ambitious, driven, to embrace the role and is prepared to promote innovative ideas to resolve complex property related issues
An experienced chartered estate surveyor with experience of landlord and tenant matters, including negotiating leases, licenses and managing other property transactions.
Understand the national policy context for Local Government specifically in respect of property.
Building and maintaining strong networks of support both internally and externally, and forging effective partnerships with external agencies, voluntary and statutory bodies, and key stakeholders for the continuous improvement of services.
