As a Principal CAD/BIM Technician, you will form part of the existing team working with the project delivery teams to develop BIM models for the Structures discipline and interface with BIM leads in other disciplines to create federated models and undertake clash detection. Working with the Regional leads, Project Directors, Project Managers and input into the Technical Leadership Group to assist with developing a coherent design process that maximises data exchange across multiple software platforms.


A typical week would include:


Provide 3D modelling expertise to a variety of multidisciplinary projects in the Building Structures sector Act as project lead on multi-disciplinary jobs. Able to liaise with counterparts in other disciplines. Mentoring and guiding younger members of the team. Managing, monitoring and checking of work undertaken by iCRC external resource Provide close support to the Structures teams in the development of BIM within the business. Knowledge of current BIM Level 2 documentation. Actively support the development of skills and capabilities of the design teams to assist project delivery within a BIM compliant project environment, relevant to business needs. Provide a supporting role to upskill BIM knowledge to internal colleagues and external consultants / subcontractors as required. Developing and cross checking model information against the Employer Information Requirements (EIR), including clash detection and validation of non-graphical information. Interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams, and driving BIM benefits at project level. Monitoring and advising on clash detection issues Able to produce high quality Models and drawings in both 2D and 3D. Knowledge of Health and safety About You


We'd love to hear from you if you have:





Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience working in both 2D and 3D High level of relevant software Experience such as Revit, Autocad and Navisworks.
Other packages Aecosim / projectwise (not essential) would be an advantage. Knowledge of BIM360 cloud models


Able to manage data in a secure and controlled manner Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build positive working relationships Demonstrable experience of operating in a BIM Level 2 compliant environment Open to learning new software and processes Ability to coordinate others and manage own workload Minimum HNC/D level education in an engineering or other relevant subject, a clear understanding of Building Information Modelling and its benefits to the construction Industry. A multidisciplinary approach to design, independent of background An excellent working knowledge of building construction and materials, Knowledge of Eurocodes etc. Have a good working knowledge of industry standards such as BS1192, PAS1192 iso19650and associated documents. Able to sign and abide by confidentiality agreements including security clearance. An amiable and flexible attitude to work.
