Making A Difference as a Primary School Cook in the School Traded Services.
We have a vacancy for a Primary School Cook at English Martyrs Primary School.
The hours of work are 25 hours per week. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 9.00am - 2.00pm (variable to meet the needs of the service).
The main duties of the post are:
Controlling the day-to-day management of the school kitchen, to the systems and standards as laid down by the Catering Division.
Organising the work force, preparation, cooking and serving food to the highest possible standard, ordering supplies, controlling portion size, menu and product sampling.
Training staff in the use of equipment and materials, recording of all training, maintaining records and making routine returns to the catering division including simple profit and loss account and time sheets.
Working together with the Head teacher to promote the school meals service to parents and pupils.
Applicants will be required to have (or a willingness to work towards) an NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking or City & Guilds 706/2. Being in receipt of a basic food hygiene certificate is also essential.
