Vacancy for an experienced Preschool Deputy Manager who can support the manager with the day-to-day management of our preschool, and take on coordination of special educational needs.
The deputy manager will need to be able to support the manager with:
Co-ordination of Special Education Needs
Safeguarding and behaviour management
Staff Management; including day to day deployment, staff meetings, and staff supervisions and appraisals.
Ensuring Safeguarding and Health and Safety standards are met and policies followed
Liaising with Parents and external agencies, e.g., for SEND or Safeguarding.
Key Group management and supervision of staff
Counted in ratios, with your own key children
Contributing to curriculum planning; long term and short-term planning
Managing the learning environment, e.g., room layout, displays, overseeing pack-up of the room
Admin on 'Tapestry', adding parents and children etc (Online Learning Journals)
Ordering / buying resources and supplies, sticking to a budget
General admin e.g., Keeping registers up to date, resources for room management, etc
You must have a good standard of written and spoken English, good communication & people management skills, good organisation skills, and work well as part of a small team.
A minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education is required.
Riverside Nursery School is a small pack away preschool based in a modern scout hut building on the edge of Ware, established in 2014. We are located between horse fields, Presdales Wood, and residential gardens. We have approximately 40 children on roll, with an average 20 attending each morning and 15 per afternoon. We accept children from age 2y to 4y 11m. We currently have 3 full time and 1 part time Preschool Assistants.
We are a friendly, supportive, and relaxed team. We know that our staff are our most important asset. Early Years can be tough and we do our best to ensure that everyone is supported and that workloads are managed. We encourage professional development and can support you to access further training.
