Cancer Care Practice Educator - Exciting Opportunity



We are seeking a dedicated Cancer Care Practice Educator to join our team and support the ongoing development of nursing and healthcare staff within our cancer care services.



As a highly skilled and knowledgeable nurse with advanced clinical expertise, you will play a vital role in the education and professional development of nurses and healthcare assistants in cancer care. Working with staff during their shifts, you will provide hands-on training, assess competencies, support staff completing their SACT passports and support their growth in specialist cancer care skills.



A key aspect of this role is identifying learning and development needs within cancer care services and implementing a structured framework to enhance core clinical competencies. You will design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs to ensure staff are equipped with the latest evidence-based knowledge and skills required in cancer care.



Additionally, you will contribute to policy and procedure development, ensuring best practices are upheld across the department. Your leadership and commitment to education will directly enhance the quality of care provided to cancer patients.

Working in clinical practice. Act as an expert resource for the multi- professional team. Be a visible and accessible point of contact for staff, co-coordinating staff development within Cancer care With the Clinical Leaders acts as a resource and advisor f Lead in the development and advancement of evidence based practice to improve patient outcomes Promote reflective practice and a culture of lifelong learning, using action learning sets, clinical supervision, e-learning and other blended learning methodologies. Ensure that newly qualified practitioners are aware of the quality and safety aspects of patient care Work closely with education providers to ensure organisations are responsive to service needs Provide clear clinical leadership and professional support for Nurses and Health Care Assistants working within Cancer Care Support the clinical leaders in ensuring the highest standard of training is provided, monitored and evaluated. Identify and address the education and development needs of the current and future workforce Support service redesign and development by acting as an educational adviser Support the Clinical Leaders in the development, planning and coordination of high quality education and training for staff within Cancer care. Competency Passport for registered staff in the Safe Handling and Administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT)

The Practice Educator will support the provision of professional leadership for nurses working within Cancer care.



To Develop and deliver local induction programmes for all new members of staff.



A key element of the role will be the identification of the learning and development needs of Nurses and Health Care Assistants working within Cancer care and the co-ordination of a development programme.



The post holder will also contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within their sphere of responsibility.
