Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher position on the Leverhulme Trust funded project: \xe2\x80\x9cHow does poor sleep in adolescents impact learning and education?\xe2\x80\x9d. The position is for 3 years, starting on 1 September 2023 or soon thereafter.
The project will involve tracking sleep patterns in secondary school children and measuring their ability to learn and consolidate new memories throughout the three years of the project. Educational measures and standardised cognitive measures will also be collected. The successful candidate will also work with mobile phone app developers to design an app that will support adolescents in improving their sleep habits and test this app on a large cohort of adolescents. The primary duties will include: designing the research, data collection at schools and online, analysing data, and disseminating findings through journal articles, conference presentations, and other methods.
Applicants should hold a PhD in psychology or closely related discipline, or be close to completion, and should have excellent quantitative research skills. Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and computing skills are also essential.
