Over the last five years ULMS has engaged in extensive recruitment of academic and professional services staff, expanding into a state-of-the-art extension adjacent to the Georgian quarter of Liverpool, including a trading room and a marketing suite. The School now has 230 academic staff supported by 90 professional services colleagues. The Strategy, International Business and Entrepreneurship group (SIBE) is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA), working in the area of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The post holder will work under the supervision of Prof. Jordi Surroca and will join in his ongoing research which examines the micro, meso and macro drivers and consequences of firms' engagement in corporate social (ir)responsibility. The fellowship will allow the post holder to publish their ongoing research while collaborating with Professor Surroca on new research projects.



As a PDRA, you will:



Carry out research of a world leading standard working with Professor Surroca and prepare papers for submission to world leading journals. Contribute to administrative research activities of the Group such as organizing workshops and reading groups.

Contribute to the research environment of the Group by participating in brown bag series, research seminars, and workshops.

Candidates will possess a PhD (or be close to completion) in any relevant area of Management. The successful candidate will have expertise in composing large datasets and demonstrate familiarity with statistics software packages, such as Stata and Python.

Knowledge about computer text analysis is also desirable.

Excellent written communication skills are required.



The position is available from August 1, 2025, and is a 12-month fixed term position.

If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
