We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter to join the healthcare team at HMP Isle of Wight, a Category B male prison just outside of Newport. HMP IOW has free onsite parking, and compromises two sites - Albany and Parkhurst.No experience is necessary, and this is a great opportunity to start a career in a prison environment!Although ideally we are looking for someone full time, we can consider part time (30 hours per week)!Hours:This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.Salary:This position is full time , you'll receive an annual salary up to 327,582 per annum - depending on experience.How will we support you?

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksWhat you'll be doingAs a Porter, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

• Provide a high standard of portering services and housekeeping, escorting visitors and contractors into and around the prison
• Deal with patients, healthcare colleagues and other professionals over the phone and face to face
• Deliver medication between the two sites, as well as taking samples to the local hospital
• Carry out basic admin tasks, including answering calls, scanning, delivering post etc
• Deliver a tidy healthcare area, monitoring and ordering stock as necessary, paying attention to expiry dates and cost of equipment
• Work with the admin team to ensure paperwork is collected form the wings, as well as assisting the pharmacy in the transporting of medication

• A full manual drivers license - this is essential as driving is a key part of the role
