The Department:
The Student Support Department is one of four Departments within the University\'s Education Services. The Department delivers services which aim to support and empower students to fulfil their academic and personal potential. The Department comprises the University Counselling Service, Mental Health Advice Service, Harassment and Violence Support Service, Student Wellbeing Service, the Accessibility and Disability Resource Centre and a fixed term Mental Health Change Programme Team. The Policy and Project Associate tole will form part of the Change Programme Team.
The Role:
This exciting and newly created Policy and Project Associate role will require the post holder to apply a wide range of skills and experience to support delivery of policy, project, governance and student engagement activities for the Department.
Leading and supporting various strands of work, responsibilities will likely include committee servicing, event management, research and analysis, report writing, project delivery, relationship building and contributing towards policy development and strategic decision making.
The ideal candidate would be educated to at least degree level, have a solid administrative background and be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills. Previous experience in project delivery and/or policy development would be a distinct advantage. The post holder must have a flexible and pragmatic approach as the role will involve working both proactively and reactively across a broad range of topics during a period of quite significant change within the Department. A strong interest in student mental health and wellbeing is highly desirable.

This is a time-limited post (2-year fixed term contract). The role is advertised as full time, but we welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for flexible working arrangements.
We also welcome applications from internal candidates wishing to be considered for the role on the basis of a 2-year secondment.
The Department currently operates a hybrid working policy which allows staff flexibility to undertake a mixture of working from home and at the Student Services Centre.
