In this role you will support the LGA\'s policy work on health, integration and adult social care within the Community Wellbeing team. The role is varied and requires a solid understanding of the current health and care policy landscape and the wider local government context in which it sits. Examples of policy areas you will likely support include: the Better Care Fund; intermediate care, recovery and reablement; and the voice of lived experience, and patient and public engagement.
The successful candidate will work with colleagues from across the LGA, Partners in Care and Health (the LGA and ADASS support programme for social care and health) and councils. Beyond local government, the role requires working with a wide range of external stakeholders including government departments and NHS England as well as organisations representing health and adult social care from the statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
This is a complex, high-profile and fast-moving policy area and the post-holder will play an important role in advocating on behalf of local government to ensure councils have what they need to best promote and support the wellbeing of their local residents.
The Community Wellbeing Team is a small but effective team that covers a lot of high profile policy issues. Your open, flexible and can-do approach will help you fit in with the Team, but you will be equally comfortable and confident in owning work areas and working independently.
