PMO Manager - The role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to join the Linklaters\xe2\x80\x99 Ropemaker programme team.

As PMO Manager of one of the highest profile programmes at Linklaters, you will be responsible for providing all PMO services to the programme, including ensuring the application of best practice methods, tools and templates, management reporting, quality assurance, dependency management, change control and governance facilitation.

You will work closely with the Ropemaker Programme Director, workstream leads, and experts from supporting functions such as finance and technology.

You will have extensive experience of operating in a project and programme environment, hold in depth knowledge of best practice (ideally gained on Real Estate / Workplace change programmes), be financially astute and have an extensive eye for detail.

You will be comfortable in dealing with large volumes of information, prioritising your time effectively and communicating to stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

  • Ensures application of best practice across the programme, working with the Programme Director and team to institute controls as needed.
  • Enables rigorous and effective information management and change control practices, ensuring full and easily accessible audit history across the programme.
  • Provides regular analysis and reporting on the programme\xe2\x80\x99s progress to the Programme Director, senior stakeholders, and governance bodies.
  • Supports the team in the effective management of the Ropemaker budget including forecasting, reporting and, if needed, managing changes.
  • Undertakes or facilitates health checks as needed, identifying risks, issues and dependencies (maintaining RAID logs), highlighting and tracking their resolution appropriately.
  • Supports the team in effective supplier management processes, ensuring that suppliers are delivering effectively on their contractual obligations
  • Works with the Programme Director and team to ensure traceability of benefits and that the programme will deliver against expected outcomes.
  • Ensures the effective application of governance and decision making within the programme and where relevant the wider firm e.g.: the Project Approval Board, Investment Committee and Executive Committee.
  • Works with others in the firm (such as the Portfolio / Technology PMO to monitor the project landscape and to ensure any interdependencies are fed into the Ropemaker programme appropriately (and vice versa).
  • Works with the Programme Director and others on \xe2\x80\x98ad hoc\xe2\x80\x99 activities such as maintaining an accurate and up to date view of the programme plan, producing first draft materials for stakeholder meetings, providing input as needed to Linklaters\xe2\x80\x99 processes (e.g.: financial year end)
PMO Manager - What we\'re looking for:
  • Several years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working as a PMO manager on large scale programmes, ideally related to Real Estate / Workplace change.
  • Recognised qualifications (e.g.: MSP, PRINCE 2 Practitioner or APM equivalent) and demonstrated continuing professional development desirable
  • Previous experience of PMO maturity development / instituting suitable best practice with \xe2\x80\x98real\xe2\x80\x99 world application
  • Experience of using project management tools and the Office suite, notably project, excel and ppt
  • Previous experience of working in legal services or professional services environment would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to communicate effectively at all levels - clearly and succinctly conveying ideas and options
  • Embraces accountability and sets an example to others; proactive and action-oriented, driving progress via self and others and not easily diverted or distracted
  • Ability to flex approach as needed, resilient and able to cope with changing priorities
  • Inclusive, aware of the needs of, and supportive of, all team members
