Why Join Sizewell C?
Sizewell C (SZC) is a nationally significant infrastructure project, set to play a crucial role in the UK's clean energy future. Backed by EDF and HM Government, the project offers the chance to be part of a technically ambitious and socially important mission. Joining the SZC team means working on one of the largest civil engineering projects in Europe -- contributing to national energy security, net zero goals, and the local economy in Suffolk.
Why Join as a Project Manager - Ancillary Works?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team delivering some of the most complex and diverse civil engineering scopes on the project. As a Project Manager for Ancillary Works, you'll play a key role in shaping how vital supporting infrastructure is designed and delivered -- from technical galleries and utilities to access routes and foundations. The work is varied, fast-paced, and critical to the success of the wider construction programme. You'll be hands-on with problem-solving, design development, procurement, and stakeholder engagement, gaining exposure to all phases of a major infrastructure programme with direct links to Hinkley Point C's learnings and best practices.
About the Role
We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Civil Works Programme and lead the successful delivery of complex civil engineering scopes, focused specifically on technical galleries. The role involves managing engineering, procurement, and manufacturing workstreams to ensure the timely delivery of key contracts valued up to 500m.
You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team supporting the final investment decision and transition into the delivery phase. This is an opportunity to work closely with the Responsible Designer, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders, while applying lessons learnt from Hinkley Point C and driving intelligent replication at Sizewell C.
Key Responsibilities
Manage engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with project needs and replication strategies
Support contract development, procurement, and technical specification preparation
Drive SZC-specific design changes into deliverables and contract documents
Coordinate internal and external interfaces across contract and systems scopes
Lead engagement with suppliers and regulators to identify risks to delivery
Develop project execution plans, defining scope, budget, and schedule requirements
Ensure delivery of contracts meets business, safety, quality, and technical standards
Support contract award preparation and transition into construction
Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience within civil or nuclear sectors
Strong technical understanding of complex buildings and associated regulations
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage key project interfaces
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Degree qualified in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
Desirable:
Experience delivering within a regulated, high-complexity environment
Knowledge of nuclear design, procurement, or construction processes
Experience with Primavera P6 or PRINCE2 methodology
Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Manager
Team & Culture
You'll report to the Senior Project Manager and be part of a growing and supportive team that includes fellow Project Managers, an Apprentice, and a new Assistant Project Manager joining soon. The team operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where technical excellence and stakeholder engagement are central to success.
Key Competencies
Clarity:
You communicate effectively and ensure clear alignment across delivery partners
Solidarity:
You collaborate and contribute to a cohesive team dynamic
Respect:
You value inclusivity, feedback, and integrity
Positivity:
You challenge inefficiencies and strive for continuous improvement
Humility:
You remain open to learning and adapting, even when leading

Join the team at Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain.
It's not every day you get the opportunity to shape the working culture of what will be one of Europe's largest construction projects, while also helping Britain to reach its target of Net Zero emissions by 2050. That's one of the reasons Sizewell C will be unlike anything you've ever experienced before, and you'll need to be an exceptional professional to reach the high standards this critical infrastructure project demands.
The UK is experiencing a nuclear renaissance and Sizewell C - along with its sister project at Hinkley Point C in Somerset - is powering the change. We're ramping up at pace as we look ahead to the Financial Investment Decision in early 2025, and the start of construction soon after. With government fully on board and public opinion shifting significantly in favour of nuclear, there's never been a better time to join our project.
By submitting an application to this role, you acknowledge that you have read and understood Sizewell C's employee privacy policy and EDF's employee privacy policy. Just to let you know, EDF will be processing and sharing information about your application on behalf of Sizewell C.
