Playwork Assistant (training will be given) - Blackwood (Welsh speaker desirable)
Job Overview
We are seeking a Playwork assistant who may have experience of working with children but no formal qualifications. You must be willing to complete a recognised L2 Playwork qualification and will be supported to do this
All successful applicants must be able to provide 2 satisfactory references and submit their information for an enhanced DBS check.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children in the Afterschool/Holiday Clubs
- Engage children in educational and recreational activities
- Supervise and monitor children's behaviour to ensure their safety
- Develop and implement age-appropriate learning programmes
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Drive initiatives that promote children's development and well-being
Skills
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is desirable
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children and parents effectively
- Strong leadership abilities to manage and lead activities
- Ability to engage and connect with children of varying ages
- The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable
