About us
A landmark building in London\xe2\x80\x99s Square Mile, the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, known as the Old Bailey, is managed by the City of London Corporation. Behind its dignified fa\xc3\xa7ade the Old Bailey is a centre of intense activity with thousands of people entering the building on a daily basis, from judges and jurors, to witnesses and defendants, as well as press and members of the public. Efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are a vital part of its smooth operation and contribute to its authority and standing.
The role
As well as overseeing our Building Management Systems, you will check the safe running of elements such as air handling units, boilers, pressurisation units, motors, cooling towers, chillers, air filters and plant rooms. You will also dose and check water treatments and ensure water supply tanks are at the correct level. Monitoring the fabric of the building and logging any day-to-day repairs will also be part of your role.
About you
With solid experience of multi-purpose plant operation, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have a practical approach to problem-solving and a range of skills including pipe fitting and plumbing. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be capable of working from maintenance manuals and system drawings. Some experience of using building operations software is important. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have good health and safety awareness, including ACOP L8 relating to Legionnaires\xe2\x80\x99 disease, and will be prepared to obtain a first-aid certificate if you don\xe2\x80\x99t already hold one. Tactful and courteous in your dealings with other people, you happy to work alone or as part of a team.
Alternating shifts of 07.00 \xe2\x80\x93 15.45 and 12.00 \xe2\x80\x93 19.45
