Modality Partnership East Surrey Division has a part-time/ full-time vacancy (25 hours to 37.5 hours per week) for a phlebotomist. The postholder will be a high performing Phlebotomist working at Birchwood Medical Practice. Main duties of the job
This is a hands-on patient facing role; we are seeking individuals to join our team who are caring, compassionate and confident, who demonstrate effective communication, excellent customer service skills, good IT skills and the ability to support patients with interventions and/or queries. The post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a direct referral from a GP or nurse / nurse practitioner, working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols. Assist and support care delivery by only undertaking delegated work that is within own level skill and competence.

Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with protocols and procedures.
Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers.
Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity.

Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in accordance with practice procedure.
