A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a 10 year old male for a 42 hour period once a month. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this family to manage their support independently. Training can be provided as required and where available. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.
Main Duties:
Support and encourage him with any activities of interest as identified by the family.
Have adequate and age-appropriate toys, games, books, activities.
Provide a safe environment.
To encourage play and give time for rest.
Experience working with neurodiverse young people would be advantageous.
Establish and maintain a professional and efficient standard of care.Always ensure his safety during your working period.
Have good awareness of safe manual handling and hygiene.
Provide companionship at home and engage in lively positive conversation.
Local knowledge of appropriate activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked could be off-site within the community.

A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
