Part Time Personal Support Assistant for Company Director
The company Director is seeking a flexible and dedicated Personal Support Assistant. This dynamic role encompasses a variety of tasks typical of both an Administrative PA/Job Aide and a Support Assistant. Flexibility to meet the Director's needs is essential. Candidates should be willing to use their own vehicle for work-related tasks, and while teaching experience is desired, it is not essential.
Role Overview:
This part time role includes up to 16 hours per week funded by Access to Work, distributed as follows:
Office admin hours - Monday to Thursday 9 am - 12pm, Friday 9am - 1pm.
AD-HOC hours - Occasional hours to meet business needs; these may be in the office, external events, training, cover teacher or tasks working from home
PA/Job Aide Responsibilities:
Acting as the first point of contact: handling correspondence, phone calls and responding to general inquiries.
Co-ordinating events and conferences.
Managing diaries, organising meetings and appointments.
Undertaking tasks as 'Acting Manager' in the Director's absence.
Occasionally providing 'substitute teacher' cover to meet the changing needs of the Director.
Managing the day to day running of the office in her absence
Promoting the business, liaising with potential clients and new staff members, organising inductions, matching clients with teachers/classes/training opportunities
Liaising with other contractors, team members and external agencies
Ensuring that all procedures and policies are adhered to with particular reference to Performance Management, Safeguarding, Safer Recruitment, Health & Safety and GDPR/confidentiality
Sharing and exploring ideas for continual business improvement
In collaboration with, or in the absence of, other team members:
Conducting research on behalf of the Director.
Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Implementing, and maintaining, procedures and administrative systems.
Collating and filing expenses. Completing basic bookkeeping tasks.
Managing social media following company branding and Social Media Guidance
Creating engaging posts each week, monitoring social media platforms, executing marketing strategies, and contributing to business growth.
Support Assistant Responsibilities:
Supporting the Director in managing their schedule and implementing strategies to prevent overwhelm.
Providing prompts to prioritise tasks, organise, and complete assignments.
Assisting the Director in sharing and implementing new ideas, strategies, and processes.
Ensuring physical setup, organisation and readiness of the office and classroom.
Providing support during group sessions as needed.
Offering emotional support for managing challenging communication tasks.
Assisting the Director with personal commitments, such as postal errands, attending appointments and travel.
Candidate Requirements:
An understanding, encouraging and adaptable individual who can maintain confidentiality and build positive working relationships to support others to succeed.
Reliable, flexible, and passionate about business development.
Must have strong literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills
Capable of both independent working whilst also being an excellent team player - this role is shared with an additional Assistant.
Must demonstrate strong communication skills and be confident speaking with both clients and professionals to build both rapport and support company growth.
Has own vehicle and be willing to use it for work-related tasks.
Willing to undergo full DBS security checks and Safer Recruitment procedures, including providing valid identification and references.
Previous teaching experience to cover lessons is desired but not essential.
This is a self-employed contractor position. The candidate must apply for a UTR number and manage their own taxes and insurances.
