What is Access to Work



Access to Work is a publicly funded employment support grant scheme that aims to support disabled people start or stay in work. It provides support in the form of an employment support worker for people who have a disability or physical or mental health condition. The Support worker can provide additional assistance where someone needs support or adaptations beyond reasonable adjustments. Access to Work grants are essential in enabling people with additional needs to work and pursue an engaging and fulfilling career.

Generate Opportunities has been at the forefront of delivering Employment Support through Access to Work grants. We support people around the UK, helping those with additional needs work across all sectors of the economy and in a wide variety of roles. Our employment support workers have remarkable success in facilitating people to stay in work and to progress in their chosen field. We are now looking to build and expend on our success by growing our staff team.

Main Purpose of the Job



We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Employment Support Workers for our Employment Support department. As an Employment Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in assisting individuals facing challenges in the workplace. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive support to clients with diverse work-related difficulties, including but not limited to disabilities, mental health issues, or other barriers. You will collaborate closely with clients to assess their needs and developing personalized employment goals to enhance their job prospects and workplace success. Your support will encompass assisting clients with any area of their job that is affected by their needs. Additionally, you may be required liaise with employers to create inclusive work environments and facilitate any adjustments and additional support within the organisation. This role requires a compassionate approach, strong interpersonal skills, and a dedication to empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve success in their employment.

Detailed Responsibilities and Duties



Duties will include but are not limited to: -

? Schedule planning

? To assist client with their day-to-day administrative tasks such as form filling and collecting training feedback.

? Support client with organization such as helping with online file management

? Organize weekly and monthly work plan

? Note taking and minute-taking at meetings and appointments

? Helping with research and data gathering for tasks

? Understand and work within policies covering confidentiality, Data Protection, Health and safety

? Undertaking work as directed by the client and facilitating the completion of their work duties.

The nature of the role and specific requirements of the role may change depending on the needs of the client.

General Responsibilities



To be an active member of the Generate staff team.

To comply with all relevant Generate policies, procedures and guidelines, including but not limited to Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Children &Vulnerable Adults, and Confidentiality of Information.

To represent Generate positively in a variety of situations and respond professionally to general enquiries.

Although normal office/ retail/ hospitality sector hours will apply, the post holder must be flexible in his/her hours to meet the needs of Generate.

Keep records and report on outcomes of your work.

Keep up to date with current issues and good practice in the field of the Access to Work programme.

Engage with support offered by colleagues and undertake training as required.

Undertake any other reasonable task relevant to the work of the organisation that may be requested by the management team.
