We are working with a small animal practice located in Runcorn who are recruiting for a Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse.
This is an exciting opportunity for an RVN who is looking to take on more responsibility with managing the nursing team. The HVN will act as a clinical lead to the nursing team and will take governance for the team. They will be support the training of student nurses and will ideally be a clinical coach or train to become a clinical coach.
The role will also involve all aspects of nursing so you must be capable in all areas, pulling from your experience working in a small animal practice. You will have the ability to balance empathising with clients and maintaining your professionalism. You will be prepared to develop your skills by working closely with the whole team and must have an excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Your general nursing skills will involve assisting in operating theatre, caring for medical and surgical patients, in-patient care, laboratory work and vet and nurse consultations. Schedule 3 work is encouraged and training is provided.
The role is full time for 37.5 hours per week over 4 or 5 days with shifts between 8:30am and 7pm, along with 1 in 6 Saturdays at the practice and 1 in 8 weekends at the branch hospital. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

You will need to be confident in your own abilities and have excellent clinical and customer service skills to succeed in this
You will be ambitious and motivated and looking for a career development role
You will either be a clinical coach or looking to become a clinical coach
You will enjoy training and mentoring others where required
You will need to be comfortable liaising with other veterinary team members, specialists and service providers

Salary: \xc2\xa329,835 to \xc2\xa334,618 per annum, commensurate to experience
