Are you a restaurant chef looking to reclaim your evenings? Or a seasoned sous wanting to try something new? If you like the idea of being finished in the kitchen and maybe even home by 5pm, read on!
Finzean Farm Shop & Team Rooms is a popular Farm Shop & Cafe, located on and operated by the Finzean Estate. We are open 7 days a week, offering home-cooked breakfasts, lunches, afternoon-teas, ready-meals, ice cream and lots more to locals, visitors and holidaymakers alike. We strive to make as much of our menu as possible (and practical) in house, and have a well equipped kitchen to make this a smooth, efficient process.
As a chef at Finzean, you will be involved in all aspects of our prep, production and service, so a strong ability to multi-task and cook instinctively is a must. We trust our chefs to independently make delicious, approachable food. Lunch is served from noon-3.30pm, and especially during the summer can be a continuously busy affair.
We're a welcoming, friendly kitchen and team, and work hard to maintain a workplace environment that is free from any drama. This means no shouting, excessive swearing or other bad habits. If this doesn't sound like something you'd like to be a part of, this isn't for you.
Our customers are very loyal, and enjoy our regular menu items and our specials alike. In the season, we work hard at using all the local game available to us, including butchering all the venison and pheasants from the estate, for use in the kitchen. Training for this would be provided and encouraged.
Set in rural Aberdeenshire (15-20 minutes from Banchory/Aboyne, 35-40 minutes from Aberdeen) our Farm Shop is a beautiful place to come to work - but being in a rural location, having your own car/transport is essential. There is staff parking available on-site for cars, and a secure area for bikes and cycles.
