The role:




Working as a member of a small team, the main purpose of the role is to process & deliver a timely and accurate end to end monthly Group Payroll to the Payroll Manager for their final checking and sign-off. This will include employee and manager query handling, all operational tasks including third party payments, reports to business, supplementary payrolls, variables (commission, bonuses, etc), HMRC RTI returns through to control account reconciliations.

What you'll be doing:



Process & deliver to the Payroll Manager an accurate end to end monthly Group Payroll, to include third party payments, reports to business, supplementary payrolls, HMRC RTI returns through to control account reconciliations. Audit pay data pre and post commitment of payroll and validate confirmed reports. Perform daily payroll department operations, managing own workload. Manage the Payroll inbox, dealing with queries within agreed SLA's while providing a first-class customer service to employees and other stakeholders. Maintain payroll processes, keeping them relevant and up to date. Ensuring accuracy of data on the HR core system, including regularly reviewing data quality and addressing issues promptly. Ensuring adherence and compliance to information security and GDPR requirements.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate end-to-end payroll processing, maintaining compliance, and delivering excellent service to employees and stakeholders with a customer-focused approach.


Essential Criteria




Excellent understanding and experience of quality checking data input, sign off process and authorisation. Attention to detail with a drive to achieve 100% accuracy. Knowledge of Unit4 (ERP). Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data entry and management. Experience in managing and prioritising queries.

Desirable Criteria



Specialist knowledge of all processes within the Payroll team. Understanding of key stakeholder practices and processes and their impact on the payroll i.e remuneration review & performance process, bonus schemes, share schemes, benefits provision and recognition schemes. HMRC statutory return dates to include monthly and yearly deadlines. Ideally CIPP qualified (Associate CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate or above) or working towards this.
