Overview: Due to rapid expansion within Avalara\xe2\x80\x99s fast growing EMEA business we have a requirement for a new role as Payroll Analyst to work with the Payroll Manager to deliver a first-class payroll service to the business. Initially the Payroll Analyst will be responsible for the UK payroll with the potential to expand into international payrolls. It\'s a fantastic opportunity to broaden your area of expertise to include financial accounting qualifications. The role will have day to day responsibility for the UK payroll and will assist the Payroll Manager with the International Payrolls. Will actively take part in projects to automate and improve the efficiency of our payroll function within the EMEA region. This is a hybrid role split between home and the Brighton EMEA Head Office requiring occasional visits for intentional meetings. No more than once a week on average. Responsibilities:

• 
  Process accurate monthly payrolls in the UK working with bureau.
• Perform regular pre and post audits per internal controls to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Act as primary point of contact for UK employees regarding questions related to payroll.
• Serve as primary back-up for all other international payrolls.
• Identify, recommend and implement streamlined process improvements thereby reducing risk and manual work.
• Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll balance sheet control accounts including other staff cost accruals.
• Help to prepare and submit annual filings such as P11d, PSA and Short-Term Business Travelers, etc.
• Review annual tax reporting ensuring accuracy including, but not limited to P60\'s

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years\' proven experience as a payroll analyst or similar role.
• Current knowledge of UK payroll procedures and related laws.
• An understanding of costing and balance sheet control accounts.
• A keen eye for detail.
• An analytical mind and good math skills.
• Ability to prepare data insights for senior leadership audience.
• Proven track record of successful multi-tasking and ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
• Outstanding communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to work on your own initiative and keeping leadership appropriately informed.
• Able to work sensitively across multiple geographies/cultures and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Advanced Excel skills including vlookups, pivot table, Power Queries and Power Pivot; (macros not essential)
