This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, fast paced service.



We are recruiting to the team of Payment Officers for the City Wide Care Alarm Service based at Darnall in Sheffield. The service has over eight thousand vulnerable customers with emergency alarms in their homes. The team organise the planning of installations and the continual repairs and maintenance of all the alarms. We also take care of the finance for the service, setting up and closing customer accounts and dealing with customer enquiries over the phone.

You will need to have:


Well-developed communication skills both face to face and over the telephone Be committed to delivering a good quality customer service Able to work on own initiative, plan and prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines Ability to quickly develop positive relationships with customers and colleagues and work as a good team player The ideal candidate will have excellent IT Skills A positive can-do attitude to bring to the job




You will work in a supportive environment and have access to appropriate training and development opportunities.



It should you be required as a regular and intrinsic part of your role to speak to members of the public in English, you must be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English as required by the Immigration Act 2016.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.



If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
