Responsibilities

Assist chefs and cooks in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and equipment is properly stored. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained. Help with the setup and breakdown of daily kitchen utensils and crockery

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to ensure compliance with health standards. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. Basic cooking skills and an understanding of meal preparation processes are beneficial. Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities within a busy kitchen setting.
