Delivery of our sport and physical activity strategy is through UoM Sport which is based across our campuses primarily in Fallowfield at the Armitage Sports Centre and in Manchester University Students\' Union on Oxford Road. Our activities take place across the city utilising a range of city facilities in supporting our community being active and promoting physical activity opportunities through our facilities and programmes.

The university therefore is looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to supervise and coordinate the work of the health and fitness team (fitness & class instructors)and delivery of an excellent health and fitness offer within our facilities.

As part of the Sport operations team and in liaison with the Health and fitness coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of Fitness Facilities, ensure the delivery of quality fitness services and programmes, and develop an appropriate Health and fitness offer to meet the needs of all customers.

We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic & motivated fitness professional with a passion for helping others to join our health and fitness team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming, safe and inclusive gym environment, providing instruction and training to all members, as well as running group exercise classes.

This post will be part of the Health and Fitness team, supervised by the Senior Fitness Instructor, working alongside other fitness instructors and group exercise leaders. There will be personal training opportunities for those who are appropriately qualified.

Applicants should possess a recognised industry qualification in Fitness Instruction to a minimum of NVQ level 2,and have current membership of REPs. You should have experience of planning and co-ordinating interactive health and fitness programmes and offers, and be able to deliver gym based fitness classes, inductions and other related activities.

Applicants will be required to work on a fixed shift pattern which includes daytime evenings and weekends.

This role is customer facing and therefore is either mostly or entirely campus based without the opportunity for hybrid working.
