We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Childcare Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and possess the skills to create a safe, engaging, and educational environment. This role involves managing daily activities, providing care, and fostering the development of children in an out-of-school care setting. Please note this job requires WEEKEND working.
This job is subject to enrolment on the PVG scheme and registration with SSSC.
Responsibilities
To comply with all relevant legislation policies and documents pertaining to Childcare. E.g Health and Social Care Standards, SSSC Codes of Practice, UNRC, GIRFEC, Building the Ambition
To participate in the planning of an appropriate range of activities suited to the needs of each child and ensure these are carried out by staff.
To encourage and support the children including those with additional needs as and when required.
To assist with toileting and provide help when needed ensuring the childs dignity and privacy at all times.
To promote healthy eating ensuring all children's dietary/allergy requirements are met and that they receive a snack best suited to their needs.
To supervise children at all times and promote positive behaviour
To prepare written progress reports on each child as required by parents and other professional agencies.
To ensure a safe environment at all times ensuring that staff have completed the relevant safety/hygiene checks prior to the children attending.
To welcome and work in partnership with parents and keep them informed at all times.
Administering first aid and medication as appropriate
To assist in the, devising, updating and reviewing of children's Care and Development Plans
To attend staff team meetings and ensure any actions are followed through.
To attend any training deemed necessary by Manager or relating to job.
To assist the project manager in updating and reviewing all policies and procedures and risk assessments relating to the service.
To ensure the children are escorted from school to the Group by staff.
To be able to work as part of a team or on your own with little guidance from the project manager.
To carry out other duties deemed necessary by Manager.
Experience
Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills in English are essential for interacting with children and parents effectively.
Experience managing groups of children in an out of school care or similar setting is preferred.
A background in early childhood education or related qualifications would be advantageous. Training can be given
A genuine drive to foster a positive learning environment for children is crucial for success in this role.
